Network-as-a-Service quickly establishes trading connections between any two companies in the food and beverage industry to meet the evolving and timely demands of today’s environment. In the last two months, more than 60 new enterprises—including industry giants Trader Joe’s, Aldi and MBM/McLane—have joined iTradeNetwork’s industry-leading network to trade with the thousands of companies already on the network. NaaS offers more than just trading connections. This eliminates second-guessing and back-office rework. Network-as-a-Service provides all this and more: Immediate connectivity to any retail grocer or foodservice distributor. Get paid faster and reduce back-office rework: benefit from industry-best invoice matching rates in excess of 97 percent and eliminate manual reconciliation that delays payment. Collaboration with trading partners: communicate with in-app real-time messaging instead of phone calls and emails. Act quickly on P.O. changes, complete with audit trails. “Today’s supply chains are more complex than ever, but they should not require equally complex tech stacks to manage them. Network-as-a-Service not only connects suppliers and buyers quickly so they can start transacting, but it also provides add-on modules for traceability, freight and other solutions to help suppliers compete and achieve supply chain resiliency,” said Nathan Romney, Chief Product Officer of iTradeNetwork. NEW WAYS IN THE NEW YEAR

YourUpdateTV

A video accompanying this announcement is available at: https://youtu.be/kgg6YB2vYLU New research finds close to 70% of people abandon their New Year’s resolutions before February 1 st. That’s why it’s important to approach 2022 with realistic and achievable goals. Whether focusing on diet and exercise or overall well-being, there are ways to move forward without feeling overwhelmed. The American Psychological Association recommends starting small and changing one behavior at a time. Registered Dietician Nutritionist, Mia Syn has come up with a four-step plan to incorporate new ways into new year routines. MORE MOVEMENT: Each year, millions of Americans decide to start off the year with new exercise routines. Syn says this is a good idea. However, she prefers to keep it easy and more realistic, saying, “One of my top tips is to include more movement into your everyday lives.” According to the CDC, it’s recommended that people get 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity a week. Syn points out that “movement” can mean something different for everyone, adding, “It’s all about a balanced routine. It could be a quick walk around the block or going up and down the stairs a few times at home.” She says household chores, like gardening and mowing the lawn even counts as moderate activity. If someone is further along on their fitness journey, it can include running, weight training, and biking. Syn recommends talking with a health care professional about setting up any new routine that affects one’s overall health and wellness. SUPPORT SLEEP: The American Academy of Sleep Medicine found that many people continue to report sleep problems since the start of the pandemic. Syn’s second step includes a few ideas to support sleep throughout the year, starting with sticking to a consistent sleep schedule. This includes going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, including weekends. Next, create a room that’s ideal for sleeping — cool, dark, and quiet. Finally, really try to get seven hours of sleep each night. Syn says it’s important to note that sleep has a tremendous impact on a person’s mental and physical health, adding, “That’s why I recommend Natrol Sleep+.” From the #1 drug-free sleep aid brand in America ^, Natrol Sleep+ is an innovative product line that blends melatonin and secondary ingredients with calming, beauty and immune health benefits, all designed to plus up your sleep. † The brand offers three different gummies, starting with Immune Health, which supports a healthy immune system and helps with revitalizing sleep. † The second option is Natrol Sleep+ Calm, that helps calm an active mind and body to ease someone to sleep. † The third type is Beauty. This option helps people get better sleep and wake up looking refreshed and renewed. † Syn says these gummies are great-tasting, 100% drug-free, non-GMO, vegetarian & gelatin free, and free of synthetic dyes, artificial flavors, preservatives, or sweeteners like corn syrup. The brand options are available at Natrol.com, Amazon and all major retailers and drug stores. www.natrolsleepplus.com Facebook: @natrol Instagram: @natrolofficial Twitter: @natrol Hashtag: #DreamyNatrolNights †These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. ^ Nielson, xAOC, 52 weeks ending 12/04/21 GET CREATIVE IN THE KITCHEN: As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Syn admits that she’s always looking for ways to enhance diets while getting creative in the kitchen. “This year, I’d love for families to focus on eating more fruits and vegetables,” says Syn, adding, “It’s an easy way to get the nutrients that are needed to help support your immune system.” In general, the U.S. Department of Agriculture recommends that adults eat at least one and a half to two cups of fruit and two to three cups of vegetables each day. Syn suggests starting with a charcuterie board filled with every color under the sun. One tip is to overflow it with all types of fruits and vegetables. Some olives, nuts, and crackers can be added for extra flavor. “My absolute favorite thing to include is dip,” says Syn, “Good Foods has a variety of plant-based dips to make heathy eating easy and delicious.” This wide selection of better-for-you dips, includes new Spicy Queso Blanco, and has something for everyone — including those living vegan, paleo and keto lifestyles — and are packed with flavor and contain no added sugar. Syn points out that each can be eaten solo or as a part of a favorite recipe. Consumers can find Good Foods’ dips and spreads in stores nationwide, including Target and Costco. For more information, go to goodfoods.com. Facebook: @ goodfoodsgroup Instagram: @ goodfoods Pinterest: Pinterest.com/ilovegoodfoods LIMIT SOCIAL MEDIA: The last of Syn’s new ways to include healthier habits into daily routines is to spend less time on social media. She suggests trying to audit how much time is spent on popular platforms, asking people to “really be aware of what kind of information is being consumed, and if it’s having a positive or negative affect on their lives.” According to the Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology, it has found that limiting one’s social media engagement to 30 minutes per day leads to better mental health and positively impacts a person’s overall well-being. The True Cost of Owning a Pet

YourUpdateTV

According to a new Synchrony CareCredit study, seven out of ten pet parents consider their pets as members of the family, yet nearly half underestimated the lifetime cost of care, which ranges from $20K-$55K for dogs and $15K-$45K for cats. The study, entitled “Lifetime of Care,” is based on findings from 1,200 pet owners and 100 veterinarians. Recently, Pet Expert and Author, Andrea Arden, teamed with Synchrony to discuss the survey results and what pet parents can expect. A video accompanying this announcement is available at: https://youtu.be/N8Rwav2Wws8 The research covered an exhaustive list of dog and cat expenses, from first-year expenses (spaying/neutering, vaccinations, pet supplies) to food and health insurance, to end-of-life expenses. The three biggest takeaways for pet parents all point to need for financial preparedness: Pet owners spend as much as $55,000 during a pet’s lifetime. Nearly half of pet owners underestimate the cost of caring for their pets. 30 million U.S. households will face an unexpected pet expense that will cause them financial worry. Pet ownership is on the rise across the United States, and pet parents are spending more than ever before on their pets -- two trends rapidly accelerated by the pandemic. Today, 90.5 million U.S. homes now include a pet. And, one in five households acquired a new pet during the pandemic. The pandemic further fueled the growth of pet ownership, while definitively proving the importance of pet companionship for our overall mental health and wellbeing. Synchrony seeks to build further awareness for the options that can help pet owners be financially prepared, from pet insurance like Pets Best, to pet care credit cards like CareCredit. Together, CareCredit and Pets Best offer a complete financial solution, and card holders can pay for services using their CareCredit card, and then apply the reimbursement from Pets Best towards their CareCredit account. Together, CareCredit and Pets Best help with routine veterinary expenses like annual check-ups, teeth cleaning, microchipping and unexpected emergencies. Unlike other credit cards, CareCredit is a great resource for pet parents because it has deferred interest (up to 18 months), and it’s offered at approximately 25K veterinarian clinics around the country. For more information, visit petlifetimeofcare.com About Andrea Arden Andrea Arden is the author of Barron’s Dog Training Bible, Dog-Friendly Dog Training, Train Your Dog the Lazy Way, and The Little Book of Dog Tricks. Thriving During Dry January

YourUpdateTV

Dry January – kicking off the New Year by cutting out alcohol for an entire month – is a trend that more and more people are embracing each year. After indulging over the holidays, it’s no surprise that so many people hit the reset button in January. Recently, Co-Founders of Athletic Brewing Company, Bill Shufelt and John Walker, participated in a nationwide satellite media tour to discuss changing the narrative around Dry January, industry trends, and much more. A video accompanying this announcement is available at: https://youtu.be/eGqAehAxn5w Athletic Brewing believes consumers shouldn’t have to “suffer” through a sober January, but instead continue to celebrate in a healthy way by substituting alcoholic beverages with delicious craft brews that forgo the booze but not the taste. “After indulging over the holidays, it’s no surprise that so many people hit the reset button in January,” said Athletic Brewing Company Co-founder Bill Shufelt. “We want to help people shift their mindset and make January into less of a sacrifice. The conversation around non-alcoholic beer has changed. It’s no longer about restricting yourself. It’s about rewarding yourself and making better choices.” The non-alcoholic beer market in the U.S. surged to $230 million in 2020. Despite the continuing pandemic, the craft non-alcoholic beer category is up over 300% year-to-date again this year (Nielsen). In just four years of operation, the company has grown from one 10,000 barrel capacity brewery headquartered in Connecticut to an additional 125,000 barrels in San Diego in 2020. In 2022, Athletic will open its third brewery, allowing them to brew more than 150,000 barrels on each, the East and West Coasts to keep up with surging consumer demand. With that level of capacity, Athletic will continue its distribution growth domestically and into new international markets Nearly 50 percent of American adults consume 0.1 drinks or less per week and Athletic offers a beverage that can be enjoyed seven days a week, at any time of day, in just about any venue or occasion. For more information, visit athleticbrewing.com About Bill Shufelt: Co-Founder, Athletic Brewing Company. When Bill Shufelt decided to get healthier and cut back on alcohol, he sought out a flavorful beer to fit his lifestyle. He soon realized there was nothing like that on the market. He wondered if he was left unsatisfied by the current nonalcoholic beer offerings, how many others like him were out there in thirsty silence? In 2017, with a community of like-minded individuals, Bill started Athletic Brewing, the first U.S. based beverage company devoted exclusively to brewing high-quality, nonalcoholic craft beer. Skepticism gave Athletic a first-mover advantage – today, the non-alcoholic beer category is the fastest-growing segment of the entire beer industry – with Athletic Brewing Company at the helm representing over 45% of the category. About John Walker: Co-Founder and Head Brewer, Athletic Brewing Company. John Walker was the Head Brewer at Second Street Brewery in 2017 when Bill invited him to re-imagine what non-alcoholic beer could taste like. It took hundreds of test batches, but the final beer was exceptional. Athletics’ beers have earned accolades throughout the industry, measuring up against full-strength beers, including three gold medals at the US Open Beer Championship 2021 and the recognition of “Craft Brewery of the Year” by Brewbound Magazine. The proprietary process developed by Athletic uses all-natural ingredients to make great-tasting craft beer that just happens to be nonalcoholic. At only 50-70 calories per can, Athletic brews fit into any occasion, so that drinkers don’t have to choose between having great beer or feeling great the next day. About Athletic Brewing: International Beer Challenge 2020 “Brewer of the Year North America,” Athletic Brewing Company is reimagining beer for the modern, active adult. Their great-tasting craft brews let you enjoy the refreshing taste of craft beer, without the alcohol or the hangover. You can enjoy them anytime, anywhere, and still be healthy, active, and at your best; it’s the very reason they started brewing them in the first place. With custom breweries on the east and west coasts, their lineup has earned accolades throughout the industry, even against full-strength beers, including the 2020 World Beer Award Gold medal for Run Wild. To top it all off, as part of the Athletic Brewing “Two for the Trails” initiative, 2% of all sales are donated to trail and park cleanups and maintenance. Additionally, as a part of their IMPACT Program, 1% of revenue goes to non-profit organizations that support positive impact and opportunity from the ground up in their communities.
